THE TOURNAMENT

The tournament will take place on December 15th in California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson - California.

The World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship 2007 and International Master & Senior Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship are realized by United States Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

Results

All athletes must get the event rash guard at the IBJJF booth one hour prior to the division schedule.

THIS IS AN OPEN EVENT. ALL ATHLETES OF ANY CITIZENSHIP ARE WELCOME TO COMPETE. TRIALS NOT REQUIRED.

The athletes must be at the warm up area, according to their fighting schedulle.
The athlete only can enter in the fighing area when is called by the official.
In case of victory the athlete must return to the warm up area, and remain there till the next fight.
No coaching is alowed in the fighting area.

The athletes from the following countries Brazil, France, Portugal, Canada and Japan must be affiliated with their countries national Brazilian jiu jitsu federation, and must bring federation ID at the event before their fights, otherwise you will not be able to compete.

UNIFORM:

MAN DIVISION UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

2 – BOARD SHORTS : THE COMPETITORS CAN ONLY COMPETE WITH ANY BLACK BOARD SHORTS (MUST BE ALL SOLID BLACK COLOR, NO OTHER COLORS WILL BE ACCEPTED).

NOTE; A EXCEPTION WILL BE MADE ON THE BLACK BELT ADULT DIVISION – THE COMPETITORS IN THIS DIVISION ARE ALLOWED TO USE ANY BRAND OF ALL SOLID BLACK COLOR RASH GUARD)

WOMAN DIVISION UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

2 - SHORTS/PANTS: THE COMPETITORS CAN COMPETE WITH ANY ALL SOLID BLACK BOARD SHORTS, ALL SOLID BLACK LYCRA SHORTS OR ALL SOLID BLACK LYCRA PANTS( MUST BE ALL SOLID BLACK COLOR, NO OTHER COLORS WILL BE ACCETPTED).

REGISTRATION

ONLINE REGISTRATION

The only way to register is online registration.

Please Note: The fee for early registration, i.e., received by midnight., Wednesday, November 28, 2007 is $80.00. The fee for late registration (received November 29, 2007 through midnight, December 8, 2007) will be $100.00. ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MIDNIGHT December 8, 2007, (GMT - 8, Greenwich Mean Time). Also, note that registration fee(s) are non-refundable.

REGISTRATIONS ON THE BLACK BELT DIVISION ARE UNDER IBJJF APROVAL.

THE REQUIREMENT IS THAT THE COMPETITORS MUST BE RECOGNIZED AS A BLACK BELT IN BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU BY IBJJF.

THE FEDERATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE REGISTRATION when we reach full capacity, or december 8, wichever comes first.

Corrections by e-mail:
The athletes can send one e-mail with changes on the registration at no charge, by sending a email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org with the subject 'NO-GI CORRECTION'. The deadline is December 11 5PM GMT -7.

Registration Check day:
The athletes must make sure that their information is correct by checking the website on the registration list for their weight, belt, academy, age division, and name information. If there are any mistakes on the information (ei. typing mistakes by IBJJF) please send an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org. (deadline December 13, 5PM GMT -7) .

The IBJJF staff will be available at the Jiu Jitsu Pro Gear store on December 13th for the registration check day, from 1:00PM to 5:00PM GMT -7. December 13th will be the last chance for any corrections on the registration information. Any change on the registration that was not a mistake by the IBJJF organization will have a fee of $20.

The brackets will be released before the tournament . On Friday , December 14 the brackets will be available online at our website.

After the registration check day, no changes will be made and no refunds will be given.

During the tournament, any mistakes on the brackets that were not correct previous to sign-in check day will lead to immediate disqualification.

WORLD JIU-JITSU NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIP
DIVISIONS

Junior (16/17 year-olds)

> Only bluebelts
> Men and Women
> 16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division
> Athletes born on 1990 and 1991 are eligible to compete
> Fight time: 5 minutes
> There's no open class for juvenile
> Check the weight list
>All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Adults

The division is open for everyone (18 years old and above)
All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Fight time:

> bluebelts - 6 minutes;
> purplebelts - 7 minutes
> brownbelts - 8 minutes
> blackbelts -10 minutes

Women adult

There will be five weight divisions (check weight list)
All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Blue and Purple belts will compete in the same division
Brown and Black belts will compete in the same division

Adults only
Fight time:

> Blue/Purple - 7minutes
> Brown/blackbelts - 10 minutes

INTERNATIONAL MASTER & SENIOR JIU-JITSU NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIP 2007

The International Master & Senior Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship 2007 will be held on Saturday, December 15th, prior to the main event. On This event the points will be tallied separately from the main tournament. The points breakdown is as follows: First place- 9 points, Second place- 3 points, and Third place - 1 point. The event is for Blue, Purple, Brown and Black belts, MALE: MASTER and SENIOR 1, 2 and 3.

All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Masters (30-35)

• Athletes born between 1972 and 1977
  Fight time: Bluebelts – 5 minutes
  Purple/brown/blackbelts – 6 minutes
  Men only

Seniors 1 (36-40)

• Athletes born between 1967 and 1971.
  Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
  Men only

Seniors 2 (41-45)

• Athletes born between 1962 and 1966.
  Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
  Men only

Seniors 3 (over 46)

• Athletes born in 1961 and before.
  Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
  Men only

WEIGH INS

Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight . There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight,they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions ,if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund.

Score keepers and Ring Coordinators are needed for the 2007 World No-Gi championships.

We are currently filling staff positions for the 2007 World No-GI Championships. We are in need of time keepers and ring coordinators. You do not have to have any experience to be a time keeper or ring coordinator, just the willingness to hang in there for a long fun filled day. We will offer online tutorials and have a staff meeting at the start of each day to answer any questions that you might have.

OTHER INFO

Each academy can only have two athletes in the same division (of age/weight/belt). If your academy has problems regarding the number of athletes in each division, please send an e-mail to IBJJF ibjjf@ibjjf.org.

Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their Ids to the officials. Make sure you have it at hand.


Depending on the number of athletes in the tournament, some classes may not have an absolute division.
